Timothy Alvin Brooks

Obituary: Timothy Alvin Brooks 76 of Concord, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at his home with family at his side. His death follows a two year period of declining health. Mr. Brooks was born in Davidson County, NC on October 13, 1936 a son of the late Rev. J. J. (Jim) Brooks and the late Amanda Edwards Brooks. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Wayne Brooks and a sister, Thelma Wright. He retired from Merita Bakery, where he was an over the road truck driver for many years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of Harvest Community Church. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 2:30 PM at Harvest Community Church with Rev. Jeff Burris officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:15 prior to services at the church. Surviving are his wife; Barbara Linker Brooks of the home, daughters; Teresa B. Siler and husband Waymon of Concord, and Crystal B. Crayton and husband Gene of Mt. Pleasant, and a son; Dwight Alan Brooks and wife Kathi of Concord, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be made to Cabarrus County Hospice and Palliatve, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or Harvest Community Church, 4284 Orphanage Rd., Concord, NC 28027.
