Tom Wayne Bennett

Obituary: Tommy Wayne (Tom) Bennett, age 65, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare System-NorthEast, Concord, NC after months of illness. He was born November 8, 1951 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late Jesse Roscoe Bennett and Nellie Juanita Freeman Bennett. Tom was a 1970 graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis and a 1975 graduate of East Carolina University. Tom was owner/operator of the Allstate Agency, Harrisburg, NC for thirty-two years until his retirement on November 1, 2016. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as special times in his life. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Mike Collins. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Ann Lazenby Bennett; his children, Chris Bennett (Stacy), Brandon Bennett, and Lindsay Bennett Carroll (Ryan); grandchildren, Jordan, Rylee, Levi, Brayden, and Mackenzie. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Midway United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC 708 S. Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

Service: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2017 Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
