Obituary: Tom Louis Brawley, 56, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at CMC-NE. Friends may visit with the family and celebrate Tom's life from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 31 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. Tom was born January 10, 1958 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Demps L. and Edith Whitfield Brawley. He was a lifelong area resident and graduated from S. Rowan High School-Class of 1976. In earlier years Tom had been an employee of NAPA - Mt. Pleasant and then for Superior Rope and Sling in Charlotte. He loved to camp and fish. Tom was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 34 years, Katherine Hunter Brawley; son, Michael "Brandon" Brawley; his granddaughter, Annabel Ehlexus Brawley, all of the family home, his brother, Harry Brawley (Janet) and daughter, Heather of China Grove, his brother, Glenn Brawley (Ruth) and daughter, Rachael of Concord and his sister, Karen Hill (Kermit) and sons, Michael and Adam of Concord. Sister in law, Tracy Breslin (David) of Concord and brother in law, Brian Hartsell (Crystal) and many other loving relatives. The family would like to thank the staff at Davita Dialysis Center in Harrisburg for their love and care of Tom. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
