Obituary: Tom B. Linn, 82, of Concord died on July 26, 2013 at CMC NorthEast. He was born August 30, 1930 in Cabarrus County and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He taught at A.L. Brown High School for ten years, served eight years at A.L. Brown as assistant principal and sixteen years as principal at Charles B. Aycock Elementary School. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis and the J.L. Smith Sunday School Class. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf with his friends at Kannapolis Country Club (Irish Creek). He was preceded in death by his parents, John Alexander Linn and Etta Beaver Linn, and his brothers, Oscar , Cecil and Leonard Linn. Survivors include his wife Peggy, sons Eric (Laurie) of Holly Springs, Mark (Jennifer) of Kannapolis, David (Julie) of Austin, Tx., daughter Susan Winstead of Hickory, and grandchildren; Hillary and Brian Linn, Carmen and Logan Winstead, George Linn and Theresa Black, Caden and Evan Linn. Visitation will be 2:00 -3:00 PM Tuesday, July 30th in the parlor of Trinity United Methodist Church with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 416 E. First Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family.
