Tommy Wayne Bunton, Sr.

Tommy Wayne Bunton, Sr., 74 years old, passed away on January 30, 2022.  Tommy was born in Rowan County, North Carolina on January 12, 1948 to the late Ira and Emma Campbell Bunton.

Tommy proudly served his country in the US Army and went on to be a lifelong employee of Jerry’s Auto Body in Landis.  He loved cars, especially classic cars and was a 15+ year member of the Corvette Club.  Tommy loved to work on clocks as well, and had a collection of clocks.  He loved to sing and dance, play guitar and enjoyed roller skating in his younger years.

Tommy was predeceased by his brothers, Jimmy, Grady, and Jerry Bunton and his sister, Nancy Bunton.  Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Tommy Wayne Bunton, Jr. and Jason Thomas Narron; his daughters, Jenny Louise Benfield and Sara Elizabeth Meikle; his eight grandchildren; his one great-granddaughter and his fur babies, Callie, Macie and Minnie.

A memorial gathering will take place on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2-3pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home, with a memorial service to begin at 3pm in the Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel.
