Tommy Glenn Davis, 78, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Tucker Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.
Tommy was born on November 6, 1944 in Cabarrus County to the late Curtis Vance Davis and Jessie Lois Nash Ledbetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Ted Davis.
Tommy honorably served his country in the United States Marines and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He worked as a loom fixer at Cannon Mills for 40 years and went on to work 10 years for the City of Concord in Building and Grounds Maintenance before retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed shooting and fishing. Most of all, he dearly loved his family and cherished spending time with them.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 43 years, Janice Plummer Davis; three daughters, Priscilla (Chuck) Davis, Pamela (Roy) Lucas, Lee Ann (Monty) Pridgeon; son, Richard (Simone) Gieck; two brothers, Rev. Curtis Davis and Bobby (Betty) Davis; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Royal Oaks Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow and begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Andy Downs officiating. Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC 28144 with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Ln., Kannapolis NC 28081.
