Obituary: Mr.Tommy Ray Duty, 57, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Tucker Hospice House. Tommy was born November 7, 1957 in Cabarrus County, NC son of the late Harden Roosevelt and Ruby Mae Rimer Duty. He was a member of Prince of Peace Free Will Baptist Church and was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business. Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2014 at Prince of Peace Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chuck Overcash. Interment will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Concord. Survivors include one son, Jasper Joe Goodman-Whitman of Concord, six brothers and sisters, C.L. Duty of Kannapolis, Frank Duty (Doug) of Concord, Lillie "Sis" Kee (Lynn) of Kannapolis, Mary Jane Morgan (late Don Morgan) of Pageland, SC, Martha Benton (Brice) of Concord and Tony Duty of Rockwell. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Price of Peace Free Will Baptist Church, 4225 Vincent Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Duty.
