Obituary: Tommy Lee "TomTom" Puryear, 58, of Concord, NC died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at CMC-Main in Charlotte. He was born July 17, 1952 in Danville, Va. He was the son of Leroy Puryear of Danville and the late Lorraine Knowles Puryear who met and grew up from the Hughes Home for Children in Danville. He was employed with Food Lion in Concord and had previously worked at IBM. He was an avid painter and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Joe Hardy. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 prior to the service. He is survived by his wife, Collette Hendrix Puryear, two daughters Christina and Catherine Puryear, a step-son Jason Wentz (Amy), four grandchildren Trestyn Evans, Bailey Phillips, Christopher Puryear and Savannah Wentz, his brother David Puryear (Janice) , his sister Pam (Jeff) Arbogast, two nieces Lexi and Taylor Arbogast and a nephew Wayne Puryear.
