September 4, 1962 — August 5, 2018

Obituary: Donald Thomas "Tommy" Schenck, II, aka D.T., 55, passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday morning, August 5, 2018. Born September 4, 1962 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of Judy Sechler Ritchie of China Grove and the late Donald Thomas Schenck. In addition to his father, preceding him in death were his step-father, James "Jimmy" Ritchie, and a nephew, Brandon Talbert. Tommy was a 1980 graduate of South Rowan High and was owner/operator of Mobile Wash Inc. He was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Tommy had earned the honor of Eagle Scout with Troop 384. He loved restoring old cars and was a founding member of the Oddballz Car Club. He absolutely loved his black lab, Streak, who was always with him. An avid historian, especially with Civil War facts, Tommy enjoyed hunting, and somehow always finding arrow heads. He was a Kyle Busch fan and enjoyed listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Tommy will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Family members left with many memories of Tommy, in addition to his mother, include his sister, Delana Schenck Davis; his brothers Eddie Ritchie (Elizabeth) and Jason Ritchie (Jenni); his niece and nephews, Lauren, Jacob and James Ritchie, and many close friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, August 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Concordia Lutheran Church Family Life Center. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Tommy's life will begin at 4:00 pm Thursday at the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Larry Bost. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. On-line condolences may be made to the family at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the Schenck family.
