Obituary: Tony L. Millsaps Jr., 48, of 2234 Canterbury Drive Kannapolis, NC died Thursday May 19, 2009 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville after declining health of five years. He was born September 27, 1960 in Iredell County the son of Linda and Jim Compton of Kannapolis. He was a graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High school where he enjoyed running track and attended Appalachain State University. He loved fishing and boating. He had formerly worked at Phillip Morris Inc., Concord for 18 years and recently at Hanes Brands Inc. in China Grove. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday May 22, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Carl Settle. Burial will follow at Unity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Whitley's. At other times they will be at his parent's home, 2234 Canterbury Drive Kannapolis. He is survived by his parents Linda and Jim Compton, three brothers: Jeffrey Lynn Millsaps of Salisbury, James Compton Jr. of Kannapolis, and Trent Millsaps of Statesville, his wife Holly Millsaps of Denver, his father Tony L. Millsaps Sr of Kannapolis and his grandparents Anna Belle Compton of Mooresville and Elizabeth Martin of China Grove.
