Tony Alan Wise

Obituary: Tony Alan Wise, age 61, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 after a short illness of five weeks. He was born September 15, 1953 in Iredell County, NC, the son of Jettie Leazer Wise of China Grove, NC and the late Bill W. Wise. Tony was a 1971 graduate of South Rowan High School and received his HVAC and refrigeration licenses from Rowan Cabarrus Community College. In earlier years he worked for Duke Power, D.C. Linn, University Hospital, and Holiday Inn-Woodlawn. For the last twenty-four years, he was the owner of Wise Service Co. and the operator of Wise Oil Company in China Grove, NC. He had recently taken a new position with Commonwealth Services in Statesville, NC. Tony was a long-time active member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC where he served as a deacon and taught Bible. He is fondly remembered for his love of God and witness to others. He also loved coaching basketball and football, horseback riding, and being a member of the Single-Action Shooting Society. Tony loved and was loved by his family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. George Morris. The family will receive friends after the service Sunday at the church. Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife of thirty years, Tammy Shuffler Wise; his children, Kelly Wise of China Grove, NC; Erin Wise (Robert Princess) of Oklahoma; Jessi (Jay) Graham of Salisbury, NC; and Katie Wise of China Grove, NC; two granddaughters, Sophie Princess and Josie Graham; one sister, Jane Wise (Mike) Crosby of China Grove, NC; and one nephew, Jacob Crosby.
