Tracy Wilkerson Deal

Obituary: Tracy Luann Wilkerson Deal, 53, of Landis died Wednesday, August 1 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House after a long battle with breast cancer. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 4 at Landis First Assemblies of God Church with Rev. William Coughlin officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, at other times they will be at the family home. Tracy was born October 20, 1958, in Iredell Co., the daughter of Janice Johnson Overcash of Kannapolis and the late Henry Hobson Wilkerson. She was a lifelong area resident and graduate of A. L. Brown HS, Class of 1977. Tracy worked in retail sales in Kannapolis and helped drive a flag car as a mobile home transport escort. She was a member of Landis First Assemblies of God Church. Tracy loved to Garden, work in her yard and do crafts like painting and embroidery. She enjoyed traveling to the coast and the mountains driving with her husband in their truck. Tracy was a friend to many and never met a stranger. She always had a smile and a great sense of humor. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bobby Deal of the home, a step-daughter, Dana Keranen of Toccoa, GA, her mother, Janice Johnson Overcash of Kannapolis, 7 cousins and 2 special friends, Donna Safrit of Concord and Mary Kay Kimble of China Grove.
