Travis Lillian Jordan Pressley

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC.-Travis Lillian Jordan Pressley, age 89 went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ in the arms of her daughter on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at CMC-NE. Her death was unexpected. She has been in declining health for the past 2 years. She was born January 7, 1921 in Union County, NC, the daughter of the late Fletcher William Jordan and Miranda Iola Price Jordan. She was employed with the former Cannon Mills for 40 years as an over edger in the wash cloth department. After her retirement at age 62, Mrs. Pressley enjoyed traveling with her daughter, and was an avid gardener. She was a member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church since 1954. In addition to her parents, she was recently preceded in death by her loving husband, Crowson Lee (C.L.) Pressley who died on September 22, 2010 following and extended illness, and two brothers; Charles William and Maurice Felton Jordan. The funeral service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Rick Hoffarth . Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the services. Survivors include her daughter, Myra Alexander Womble of Charlotte, NC; her grandson, Thomas Joseph Alexander, Jr. and wife Michelle; her great-grandchildren Christopher Robert Alexander and Adrianna Abigail Alexander, all of Woodstock, GA. and her favorite cat, Joy.
