Troy Dwaine Fields

Troy Dwaine Fields, 60, of Concord passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, August 13, 2020.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 17, 2020 at Whitley’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Cantadore and Pastor Wesley Shell officiating. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service Monday.

Troy was born August 11, 1960 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Gilbert Leon Fields and Mrs. Evelyn Kimble Fields of Kannapolis. In addition to his father, Troy was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy “Bo” Fields. He graduated from South Rowan High School in 1978 and was a longtime member of Concord First Assembly Church. Troy worked on the docks at YRC Freight Company in Charlotte for over 33 years.  Troy loved to go fishing and spending time with his sons and hanging out with his dogs, Roscoe and Bella.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 30 years, Sherry Christenbury Fields of the family home and his two sons; Joseph Fields and girlfriend, Noelle Nieske and Brandon Fields and longtime girlfriend, Kristan Honeycutt, his mother Evelyn Fields of Kannapolis, his sisters; Renee Harrington of Kannapolis and Teresa Wood of Swansboro, his brothers; Scott Fields of Kannapolis, Ricky Fields of Salisbury, Randy Fields of Fayetteville and Mike Fields of Texas as well as many nieces and nephews.
