Obituary: Trulia Hatley Corn, 82 of Kannapolis died Monday April 11, 2011 at her residence. Her death follows a 1 year illness. She was born February 28, 1929 in Stanly County a daughter of the late Clester and Perl Blake Hatley. Mrs. Corn was educated in Stanly County and was formerly employed in Plant 4 as a weaver, retiring in 1990. She then worked at Five Oaks Nursing Center for 10 years. She attended Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her flower garden and fishing and dancing. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Chuck Overcash officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday prior to the services at Whitley's Funeral Home. She is survived by 2 sons: Todd and Jeff Barbee of Kannapolis, 1 daughter, Genean Rhodes of Kannapolis, 1 brother, Terry Hatley of Mt. Pleasant, 3 sisters, Elane Gordan of Richfield, Jeanie Harkey of Midland and Vickie Smith of Locust. 4 grandchildren and 1 great Grandchild.
