Obituary: Clarence Arthur Coffey, 73, of Concord, NC died Monday August 24, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast. He was born May 12, 1936 in Rockbridge, Va. the son of the late Wilson Coffey and the late Eva Chittium Coffey. He was preceded in death by his wife Margie Lee Rutherford Coffey on January 1, 2009. He was a retired cabinet maker . He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served in the Seabees for six years. He was a great husband, daddy and granddaddy. He was a light of hope for everyone around him. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Stanley Ridley and Rev. Buddy Huffman. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military honor by the Cabarrus Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Thursday at Whitley's. He is survive d by two daughters, Hope E. Coffey and Cynthia (Lynn) Coffey and husband Shane Treadway and a son Bruce E. Coffey, five grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, two sisters and a brother.
