Valda Lampert

Obituary: Valda Gray Stirewalt Lampert passed away on February 19, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born in Cabarrus County on September 8, 1927. Valda was the youngest of 9 children born to Walter Alfred Stirewalt and Dora Mae Slough. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Donald W. Lampert (2008). Valda leaves behind 3 children; Cathy Hales (Dennis), Gail Overcash, and Michael Lampert. She has 5 grandchildren who dearly loved her; Brandy Deaton (Michael), Justin Hales (Susan), Donald Lampert, Brandon and Bethany Overcash. Valda also leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Emma, Owen and Adam Deaton, Kaylan Hales and Olivia Overcash. Cathy would like to express appreciation and gratitude to Valda's in-home caregivers; Ella D., Shaquna D., Hollis W., Janet L., Lori M. and Tina C. for all the love and care they gave to her mother. In addition, a great thanks to Hospice of Charlotte for their professionalism, care and attention they showered upon Valda in her final days; Sylvia, Camilla, Gina and Pastor Rick. Her family held a private graveside service on Friday 22, 2019. Whitley's Funeral Home coordinated the arrangements.
