Obituary: Valta Rae Davis Wensil, 77, of Kannapolis, passed away, Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the Brian Center of Concord. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 21 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Wensil officiating; burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 20, at Whitley's Funeral Home. She was born June 1, 1941 in Chesterfield Co. SC to the late Thomas Drew Davis, and Gladys Rivers Davis. Valta retired as a bookkeeper from Rowan County in 2005, She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star lodges; Eureka OES China Grove, Newell OES Charlotte and an Honorary member of Rockwell OES. She joined in 1973 she was a 45 year member. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Those left to cherish her memories; her husband Jerry Wensil, three sons, Douglas Wensil, Thomas Wensil (Glena), Christopher Wensil, one daughter Stephine Wensil, four grandchildren Joshua, Caleb, Sarah, Lauchlan and one brother Tommy Davis (Ann).
