Vann Warren Price, Sr.

Obituary: Van Warren Price, Sr., 85, of Concord, NC died at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Mr. Price was born on Oct. 25, 1930 in Mecklenburg Co., NC the son of the late Andrew Henry Price and the late Essie Catherine Rushing Price. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Cox Price, a daughter; Nelda P. Donahue and a step-son; Donald Lamarr Haigler and a grandson,John G. Donahue. Vann was a U.S. Army veteran during the occupation of Japan after WW-II. He retired in 1980 from Johnson Motor Lines as a mechanic working on big rigs. Survivors include his wife, Janice Grace Chandler Price of the home, 3 sons; Van Warren Price, Jr. "Bud", Eric P. Price and D. Keith Price. Also, by 3 step-children; A.W. Haigler, Dean Haigler, and Kimbly H. Price. 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The service for Mr. Price will take place at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 28th at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel conducted by Rev. Terry Albright with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord. The family will receive friends at the Annex Chapel from 10-11:30 before the service.
