Obituary: Vedie Joyce Parks Talbert, 86, of Living Center of Concord went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug. 21, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Vedie was born on Oct. 26, 1931 in Rowan Co., NC a daughter of the late Max Cecil Parks and the late Effie Mae Driver Parks. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Talbert, one granddaughter, Tiffany Turner two great-grandsons; Nicholas and Samuel Talbert, and a brother, James Parks. Mrs. Talbert was a member of Landis Baptist Church, a 1950 graduate of Churchland School and in her early working career she worked for Pike's Drug Store. Later she was with CVS as a Pharmacy Tech. Survivors include her three sons, Keith Talbert and his wife Joyce Secco, of Concord; Wayne Talbert and wife, Carla of Kannapolis and Richard Talbert and wife Diane of Salisbury. Also by seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Loretta Parks. The service for Mrs. Talbert will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 24th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Brad Hargett. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23rd at Whitley's Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to: Hospice and Palliative Care, 5003 Hospice Ln, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
