Vencie Nichols Alexander

Obituary: Vencie Nichols Alexander, 87 of Concord passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at her home. She was born June 18, 1923 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Vance and Bertha Foster Nichols. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. She retired from Cannon Mills Co Plant 1, Sewing Dept. after 30 years in 1987. She was a member of Kannapolis Church of God where she had been a faithful nursery worker for 40 years. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Sam Crisp. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 at Whitley's. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Alexander, two daughters: Charleen A. Gobble and Terry Alexander, her two sisters Annie N. Jackson and Mavie N. Scarboro. Memorials may be made to Kannapolis Church of God 2211 West A Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
