Vera Barnette

Obituary: Vera Mae Neal Barnette, 91, formerly of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018 at Autumn Care of Salisbury. She was born December 17, 1926 in Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late LaFoy and Jessie Bishop Neal. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Herman A. Arrowood, daughter, Donna Jean Arrowood, brothers Frank Neal (Helen), Claude Neal (Ethel), sisters Margaret Urguhart (George), Edna Leapard (Wilton) Vera is survived by her husband of forty years, JY Barnette, son, Ron Arrowood (Karen), daughter, Linda Gayle Arrowood, Casey Barnette (Mary), Terri Barnette Hampton, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She loved gardening, baking and taking care of her grandchildren and family. Vera enjoyed fellowship with the Friendly Club at her church, Sugaw Creek Presbyterian. She was a prayer warrior and loved her Lord and Savior. Her favorite Hymn was Blessed Assurance. Vera formerly worked at Del Mar Studios and at CMS in the after school program. A service to celebrate Vera's life will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Covenant Church of Harrisburg, 6900 Hickory Ridge Road, Harrisburg NC 28075, officiated by Rev. Gene Turner, Rev Charles Efird and Jeff Arrowood. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Charlotte NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior at the church.
