Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Vera Henderson Isenhour, age 79, also known as "Mom" went peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father as she was surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a brief illness. She was born May 22, 1931 in Habersham County, Georgia, the daughter of the late William H. Henderson and Willie Bell Brewer Henderson. Also, she was raised by her special daddy, Henry Clarence Greenway due to the early death of her birth father. She was a life-long resident of Kannapolis having graduated from Winecoff High School Class of 1949 where she cherished attending the yearly class reunions with those special friends. Vera was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt.#1 Sewing & Wrapping Dept. for 35 years until her retirement. Vera was an active member of Shadybrook Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. She loved attending the JAM sessions at the senior citizen center. In her earlier years she enjoyed painting and making crafts. Her family fondly remembers her as a loving, caring lady who gave her unconditional love to so many but especially her family. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Greenway Cobb. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Don Davis and Rev. Rick Oxford. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 60 years, Harold E. Isenhour; two daughters, Christy I. Jones & husband, James and Kathy I. Hall & husband, Terry, both of Kannapolis, NC; two grandchildren, Jason Hall & wife, Cindy and Kara Smith and husband, Tim; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Allison (Ali) Smith, Kaleb Hall, and Kyle Hendrix; one sister, Mildred Hallford & husband, W.E. of Kannapolis, NC; a brother, Dwight Greenway of Concord, NC; and a number of special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
