Vicki Arlene (Barbee) Benton

Vicki Arlene Barbee Benton, 86, of Concord, passed away, Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Caremoor Retirement Center.

She was born April 15, 1933 in Cabarrus Co. to the late John Ralph Barbee and Margaret Whitley Barbee.

Vicki worked for Charlotte Pipe Foundry for many years until her retirement. She was Past-President of American Legion Post # 51 and also the Women’s Auxiliary Past -President. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved listening to gospel music and Tom Jones. She made the best cream potatoes.

She was preceded in death by her husband Guy Lee Benton in 1968.

Those left to cherish her memory, Five sons; Michael Benton and his wife Brenda of Concord, David Benton and his wife Kathy of Concord, Mark Benton and his wife Debbie of Concord, Randy Benton and his wife Ellen of Rockwell, and Tim Benton and his wife Nita of Harrisburg, 11 Grandchildren, and 14 Great Grandchildren, her siblings Doris Benton, Bob Ralph Barbee, Henry Barbee, Fred Barbee, and Harry Barbee.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Tom Christensen officiating burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at the church.
