Vicki Wiles Gibson

Vicki Wiles Gibson, 73, of Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord Friday morning, January 31, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House, following a period of declining health.

Vicki was born July 31, 1951, in Concord, a daughter of the late George Armond Wiles and Peggy Jean Miller Wiles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Vernon C. Gibson. 

Vicki had been a loyal 20-year employee of Northeast Medical Center, where she was a knowledgeable medical coder. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Vicki loved all her family, her dogs and enjoyed reading. She was always supportive of her kids and grandchildren, enjoying and encouraging all the activities they participated in. Although in a much better place today, Vicki will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Family members include her children, Vernon Chad Gibson and Meagan Gibson Young (Kevin); her sisters, Georgie Moore (Trent), Kim Linker (Terry) and Sherri Argabright (Jay); special family member, Tim Shue; her much loved grandson and “apple of her eye”, Keegan Lee Young; her aunt, Teeny Holmes; cousins, Lisa and Gretchen; nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 4th, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 1:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park, where Mrs. Gibson will be laid to rest beside her husband.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Tucker Hospice House, especially her nurses, Sidney, Susan and Lavonda, and CNA’s Jana “Linda” and Kori, for the love, care and concern they provided for Vicki and her family.
