Obituary: Victor Lee Davy, age 75, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System-NorthEast, Concord, NC. He was born February 8, 1941 in Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia, the son of the late Victor Russell Davy and Creola Hilda Gum Davy. Victor was a 1962 graduate of the West Virginia School for the Deaf, Romney, WV and later at Lineotype & Lithograph School, English, IN. Having worked with various other companies, he retired in 2008 from Rowan Business Forms in Salisbury, NC. Victor loved to research Civil War history and family history. He also enjoyed learning more about the history of Elkins, W. VA. The most important thing to Victor was his family, his church family, and serving the Lord. Victor was a very active member of Parkwood Baptist Church where he helped teach Sunday school, was an active deacon, helping the homebound and transported some of the elderly members to church along with various other ministries of the church. Deafness never stopped him in his many missions in life. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Parkwood Baptist Church, Concord, NC officiated by Rev. Bo Sherrill. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday at the church prior to the service. Another funeral service will be held next week at Tomblyn Funeral Home, Elkins, WV where burial will follow at Elkins Memorial Gardens, Elkins, WV. Survivors include his sister, Janice Kyle & husband, Jeff of Elkins, WV; and several cousins.
