Victor Hamilton Yandle, Jr.

Obituary: Victor Hamilton Yandle, Jr., age 84, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a short illness. He was born on July 7, 1929 in Mecklenburg County, NC, the son of the Late Victor Hamilton Yandle, Sr. and Jane Love Boyd. Vic was employed with the former Ronson Hydraulics, Charlotte, NC for thirty-seven years. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC where he was a faithful tenor in the chancel choir for many years. Vic was proud of being a singer having sung in a quartet called the "K-Towners" singing group who performed at different venues in the area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the 29th Infantry Division having served in Okinawa, Japan after the World War II. His family fondly remembers his love of gardening, fishing, and woodworking. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Helms Yandle; his second wife, Mary Jo Bunton Yandle; and two brothers, Jim Yandle and Bill Boyd. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Midway United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Burt Williams. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC with military rites conducted by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, November 1, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include his children, Phillip R. Yandle & wife, Tammy of Kannapolis, NC; David A. Yandle of Clover, SC and Anna C. Yandle of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Vickie Yandle Combs & husband, David of Kannapolis, NC; Jane Yandle Beam of China Grove, NC; four grandchildren, Mandy Duplisea & husband, Chris, Daniel Combs & wife, Kayley, Katie Beam, and Aaron Beam; two great-grandchildren, Megan and Caden Duplisea; sister, Jane O'Brien of Virginia; and one brother, Bobby Boyd of Mooresville, NC. Memorials may be made to Midway United Methodist Church, 108 Bethpage Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or the charity of the donor's choice.
