Obituary: Mooresville, NC Vilear Watkins Hammett, 92, of Mooresville died January 12, 2011 at Magnolia Gardens in Spencer. She was born January 8, 1919 in Wilkes County, the daughter of the late James Wesley Watkins and Judy Brooks Watkins. She had formerly worked at Corriher Mills. She was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis officiated by Rev. Buddy Compton. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 prior to the service. She is survived by her son, Jerry Wesley Watkins(Helen) of Mooresville, 4 grandchildren Jerry Wayne Watkins, David Wesley Watkins, Jonathan Eugene Watkins and Sheila Anne Scott, 8 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters Della Hayes, Rachel Branson and Ann Clark.
