Vinnalee Yow

Obituary: Vinnalee Brewer Yow, 84, passed away in her sleep Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Best of Care Assisted Living Cottage. Mrs. Yow was born July 30, 1929 in Catawba Co; NC to the late Gordon Leroy Travis and Floy Alma Setzer Travis. She worked for Cannon Mills Co. Plant #1 Sheet Department for 29 years until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church in Kannapolis, and she was an area resident since 1959. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Danny) Hager of Mooresville; a son, Terrell (Cindy) Brewer of Salisbury; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; four nieces; and one brother, Rexford Alvin Travis of Ridgeland, SC. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Charles Brewer in 1994; her second husband, Lonnie C. Yow; one brother, Franklin Leroy Travis; and a sister, Elizabeth Barlow Yount. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 28, 2014 at St. Enoch Lutheran Church with Dr. John Merck and Dr. Rick Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to St. Enoch Lutheran Church 701 Campbell Rd.
