Obituary: Mrs. Viola Virginia Watson, 96, of Kannapolis passed away, Saturday January 30, 2016 at the Tucker Hospice House. She was born February 14, 1919 in Ruby, SC to the late William Rufus Oliver and Mamie Oliver. Viola worked at Cannon Mills in the sewing room for 39 years and the she worked 10 years at the Cannon bed and bath store. She loved gardening, flowers, cooking, and making quilts, she was always willing to help others. She was preceded in death by her husband James Kirby Watson Sr., two sons Bobby Watson, James Kirby Jr., two step children Robert Watson, Mildred Little, and four brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory, two sons Jerry Ray Watson, Larry Wayne Watson, one daughter Dottie Neal, 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, and one Great-Great Grandchild. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 2 at Skyland Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Morgan officiating. The burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 2 at the church. Memorials may be made to Skyland Baptist Church 200 S.
