Obituary: - Violet Eugenia Arthurs Morris, age 91, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center, Matthews, NC. She was born June 9, 1921 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late Martin Comer Arthurs and Cordiebelle Beaver Arthurs. She was the last of nine children. Violet was employed at the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant #1, Wash Cloth Dept. for many years until her retirement. She had attended Memorial United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC for many years. She moved in 2000 to live with her daughter in Mint Hill. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 7, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Mike Oney. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Reuter & husband, Frank of Mint Hill, NC; two grandchildren, Kevin Puntch of Raleigh, NC and Abby Puntch of Lake Norman, NC; and one great-grandchild, Esa Puntch of Raleigh, NC.
