Obituary: Mrs. Virgie Griffin Lowe, 92, of 2452 Rock Hill Church Road, Concord, formerly of Kannapolis died Thursday, September 3, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast. She was born May 31, 1917 in Union County, NC daughter of the late Thomas and Roxie Plyler Griffin. In early life she had been employed by Cannon Mill Plant #1 Sewing Room and later was a nursing assistant at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of West A Kannapolis Church of God and in earlier years had sung in various gospel trios. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Centerview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Michael Harvey, a grandson, and Jim Bentley, Minister of Music and a grandson-in-law. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30-3:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence of the daughter, Linda Harvey, 1106 East 13th Street, Kannapolis. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband: Earlie Everette Lowe, a Daughter: Myrtle Hartsoe, two Grandsons: Michael Price and Kenny Harvey and ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by a Son: Tommy (Rosa) Lowe and a Daughter: Linda (William) Harvey all of Kannapolis. She is also survived by a Sister: Loma Wyatt of Kannapolis. Five Grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren also survive. Memorials may be made to Centerview Baptist Church, 415 Walter Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
