Virginia Goodman Johnson

Obituary: Virginia Goodman Johnson, 94, of China Grove passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017. She was born October 14, 1922 in Ashe County, a daughter of the late Ira Thomas Goodman and Emma Jane Severt Goodman. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Roy Johnson, brothers, Emery, Garnett, Robert, Ralph and William Goodman and a sister, Carol Hunter. Virginia had worked at Cannon Mills for many years. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and loved going to the mountains. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 9, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Wayne Miller. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 at Whitley's. Burial will be Monday, June 12th at the National Cemetery.
