Obituary: Mrs. Virginia Fisher Moss, 85, died on Friday, December 18 , 2009 at her daughter's home in Greenville, North Carolina. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, December 22 at 1:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel in Kannapolis,North Carolina. The service will be officiated by her brother-in-law, Dr. Alfred Wright. Interment will be at the Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum immediately following the service. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 21 from 6-8 pm at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. Mrs. Moss was born on May 12, 1924 in Harrisburg, North Carolina to the late Robert Carol Fisher and Bessie Alexander Fisher. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Moss; her daughter, Janet Moss; and sister, Linda Sorrell. She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Moss Barrier and husband, Dr. Charles H. Barrier of Greenville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Dr. Charles H. "Chuck" Barrier, Jr. and wife, Dr. Angela Barrier of Nashville, Tennessee, and Dr. Holly Barrier of Charleston, South Carolina. She is also survived by her brothers, Marshall Fisher and wife Freida of Concord; Bobby Fisher and wife Brenda of Concord; Melvin "Bud" Fisher and wife Thelma of Columbia, South Carolina; sisters, Reba McEachern and husband Harold of Concord; and Doris Wright and husband Alfred of Knightdale. The family wishes to express their gratitude to her caregiver, Ms. Mayka Carlson, for her loving care and compassion offered to Mrs. Moss during her illness. Mrs. Moss was involved in the family business of Moss and Moore Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electrical Contracting with her husband for over 30 years. She enjoyed many years of caring for her family, whatever the need might be. She loved making ceramic creations. She especially enjoyed serving her Lord with her husband in his Gideon ministry and with her church. Among family members, she developed a strong reputation for being the first responder for family and friends in need. She especially enjoyed watching and partipating in the growth and development of her 2 grandchildren, Chuck and Holly.
