Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Virginia "Jenny" McIntyre Mullinax, 85, of Kannapolis died Thursday April 22, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast. She was born July 27, 1924 in Hamlet, NC, the daughter of the late Lonnie Alexander McIntyre and the late Willie Murphy McIntyre Black. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Mullinax in 1999. She had retired from Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. She was a charter member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she was active in the Hefner-Nease (UMW) Circle and her Sunday school class. She loved to cook, her specialty being her desserts and she loved camping and fishing. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday at Memorial United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Jim Brookshire. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 PM prior to in the church sanctuary. She is survived by two sons: Gene (Cheryl) Mullinax of Senoia, Ga. and Rick (Diane) Mullinax of Kannapolis, her daughter Jane M. James of Kannapolis, her sister Rose (David) Moore of Charlotte, her two brothers: Charles (Betty) McIntyre of Kernersville and Albert (Carolyn) Black of Birmingham, Al., 8 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
