Virginia Connell Rash

Obituary: Virginia Connell Rash, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after a period of declining health. She was born April 3, 1927 in Mecklenburg County, NC, the daughter of the late David Arthur Connell and Sarah Mae Bostic Connell. Virginia was an active member in church all of her life. She was also a homemaker. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Roger W. Rash; a son, James Edward Rash; and a brother, James Lloyd Connell. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 8947 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28227. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include two sons, Donald Ray Rash & wife, Kim of Port St. Lucia, FL and Rev. William W. (Willie) Rash & wife, Sherree of Kannapolis, NC; a sister-in-law, Robin Rash of Hickory, NC; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Dorothy Connell Cooke & husband, Leo of Edenton, NC.
