Virginia E. Thomas

Obituary: Virginia Elizabeth Thomas, age 77, of Concord went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at her son's home in Ferguson, NC. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 6 at Concord First Assembly Main Campus with Rev. Tom Whidden officiating. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, April 5 at Concord First Assembly Suite 5 at the Village. Virginia was born January 26, 1937 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Roy S. and Rosa Belle Thomas. She was a lifelong area resident. In earlier years, Virginia was employed with Concord Telephone Company and was a charter member of Concord First Assembly Church. She was active in the church's music ministry as pianist/organist for 43 years and was part of The Ladies Trio. Virginia was a Christian lady, a loving wife, mother and "Mee-Mee" and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Ray Thomas in 2002. She is survived by her son, Randy Dale Thomas (Debbie), Ferguson, NC, her granddaughter, Jessica Coty (Jon), of Concord and her sister, Iris Caudill of Concord.
