Obituary: Virginia Petrea Watts, 87, Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Transitional Health Care following a period of declining health. She was born March 9, 1930 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Riley Petrea and the late Grace Barlow Petrea Mesimer. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Sidney E. Watts, Jr.on January 29, 2008 and a son, Kim Watts. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Enochville where she had been a member of the church choir and the Blanche Sellers Sunday School Class. She had retired from Fieldcrest-Cannon Plt. #1, washcloth dept. in 1992 with 45 years of service. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lewis Whittington and Rev. Ron Touchton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service. Private burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park at a later date. Those left to cherish her memories are one son, Randy Watts of Kannapolis, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one step grandchild. She is also survived by one Half-Sister, Kae Campbell of Kannapolis. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Enochville, 2308 Davis Street, Kannapolis NC 28081.
