Obituary: Vivian Colleen Dover, 85, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her four loving children by her side at her home, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 after a year of declining health. She was born November 1, 1929 in Cabarrus Co., to the late Robert Glenn and Ruby Sipe Bebber. On May 26, 1950 she married the love of her life, Billy G. Dover, Sr. (deceased) and they were blessed with 4 children: Billy G. Dover, Jr. (Tina), Kenneth Dover, Martha Compton (Joe), Brenda Delaney (Mick), 8 grandchildren: Lilly Sexton (Scott), William Dover (Jamie), Idamarie Dover, Kristie Dover (Jeff), Krystal Dover, Emily Compton (deceased), Matt Compton (Carole), and Ashley Hinson. Her pride and joy were her great grandchildren, sharing hugs, love, and kisses to each one and sharing the love of Jesus. Her great grandchildren: Chloe Vest, Caleb and Chase Sexton, Kinley Dover, Trayse Salley, Carson and Cooper Compton, and Emmah Hinson. Colleen worked for Cannon Mills and retired after 33 years of service. She and Bill worked with youth groups at numerous churches leading the youth to Christ! Colleen was a lady of ministry. She enjoyed traveling to lay witness revivals with Bill sharing the gospel. Her enjoyment was traveling with friends and Christian Tours and playing train at her home with (Geraldine, Betty and Jo). The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice for their exceptional care, (Amy Gibson, Christie, LouAnn, and Maggie for giving the best of care-We are truly grateful) For Pastor Waters and Parkwood Baptist Ch. and her best friend Nancy Moore who spent endless days and nights by her side. A very special thank you to Brenda Delaney who cared for mother every day in order to keep her in her home and comfortable. HEAVEN HAS GAINED A BEAUTIFUL ANGEL "OUR MOTHER" The visitation will be Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Her funeral will be Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Parkwood Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Her body will lie in state 1 hour before the service.
