Obituary: Mrs. Vivian B. Howard, 91, of Kannapolis passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born April 18, 1925 in Douglas County, GA to the late George F. Hampton and Jessie Beard Hampton. She retired from Concord Telephone Company after 34 years of service as a telephone operator. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in various phases of the church. She faithfully attended as long as health permitted. Vivian loved bowling and was the first inductee in the Rowan County Bowlers Hall Of Fame. Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her parents along with her husband Thurman Howard and four sisters and two brothers. Family members left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Pam Goodman and husband Mike of Kannapolis, granddaughter, Christy Foster and husband, Joe, great grandchildren, Ally Foster and Amanda Foster all of Kannapolis, a sister, Bobbie Nell Wagstaff also of Kannapolis. Visitation for Mrs. Howard will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 at Central Baptist Church from 5:00 until 6:45 P.M., with a life celebration service beginning at 7:00 P.M. with Rev.
