Vivian Coed Sechler Stallings, 92, of China Grove, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
Vivian was born on July 28, 1931 in Rowan County to the late Arlie Sechler and Clara-Belle Turner Sechler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Roosevelt Stallings, and her brother.
Vivian graduated from Landis High School and then graduated from Evans Business College. She retired as a secretary from Linn-Corriher Corporation. Vivan will always be remembered for being a First Reformed Church matriarch for many decades and in many ways. She served as the first female Elder and Consistory President. Along with her husband Clyde, she served as the past Sexton for the church, and led the Women’s Ministries for many years. During her 92 years, she served as a Sunday School teacher, youth leader, and was in the Chancel Choir. She attended worship every Sunday until her recent declining health. Vivian will be missed in a huge way and will always be an example of faithful commitment. Her love for the Lord and testimony will live on forever.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Keith (Belinda) Stallings and Timmie (Donna) Stallings; seven grandchildren, Crystal (Jeff) Kirchbaum and Kaitlyn (Jason) Tighe, Kaleb Stallings, Justin (Katie) Stallings, Brittany Howard, Heather (Neil) Miller, Sara (Josh) Griffin, six great- grandchildren and one on the way, and one great great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2023 in the fellowship hall of First Reformed Church in Landis. The funeral service will follow and begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Franks officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Reformed Church, 210 North Central Avenue, Landis, NC 28088.
