Walter Ray Miller

Obituary: Mr. Walter Ray Miller, 56, went home to be with his Savior on August 9, 2017 after an extended illness. He was born June 11, 1960 in Iredell County a son of David Ray Millerand Ollie Lambert Miller. He was a member of The Blue Church of Kannapolis and had worked in Cannon Mills Company from 1976 until 1982 at Plant 4 #1 Weave Room and Plant 1 Sheet and Pillowcase and Towel and Set Department. He was the first Assistant Manager of Burger King, he was also Vice-President of the Towel City C B Radio and President of Jackson Park Community Watch Club. He was employed with Allied Universe Security. Walter loved to play Gospel music and played bass guitar with several groups. Walter was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Sherry Jane Myers Miller and his sister Linda Miller. Among those remaining to cherish the memories of Walter are his brother-in-law Billy Myers of Kannapolis, nieces Rebecca Jacquez of Huntersville, Melissa Myers, Reading, PA., his nephew Joshua Whitman of Kannapolis, Mary Acy, Johnnie Caldwell ,and Lois Jones all of Kannapolis. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday August 12, 2017 at The Blue Church 500 West 8th Street, Kannapolis with Bishop Paul E. Heffner officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Unity United Methodist Church Cemetery.
