Walter "Sidney" Wilson Ii

Walter “Sidney” Wilson II, 55, passed away on June 9th, 2021 in Charlotte, NC at Atrium Health. Sidney was born in Concord, North Carolina to Walter Sidney Wilson and Mary Ann Young Wilson on May 21, 1966.  As a long-term resident of Kannapolis, NC Sidney graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High in 1984 and attended UNC-Charlotte. He worked for BV Belk as a General Manger with Mart Inn and Suites and with Panos Hotel Groups as a District Operations Manager where he created many of his long-lasting friendships.  He was a dependable, kind, and faithful man, who will be missed and thought of fondly by all that knew him. Sidney greatly enjoyed traveling to Florida where he loved laying in the sun, traveling to the mountains, watching the Panthers, and playing Words with Friends. Anyone who knew Sidney knows he loved taking care of others, never met a stranger and prayed for everyone who touched his life.

In addition to his parents, Sidney is preceded in death by his Uncle Charles Wilson and Aunt Joan Young Hinson.  Sidney is survived by his sisters-  Melissa Wilson, Sally Ann Brehmer (Bob), Kathy Wilson Spivey(Adam) and Kris Contois Kjeldsen(Karl);  brothers- Scott Wilson and Michael Contois (Lisa); nieces and nephews - Andrew Wilson, Trystan Perry, Samuel Wilson, Kristina Wilson, Scotty Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Savannah Brehmer, Christian Brehmer, Blake Morton, Ryan Morton, Sebastian Spivey and Beckham Spivey; great nephew, Rhettley Wilson; first cousins - Lori Hinson Bailey (Jeff), Stephanie and Christina Brackett, Angie Collins (Nathan), Marcus Hinson (Jennifer), Shawn Routh (Marcy), and Winnie Wilson Sunquist; Stepmother - Karen Wilson and Aunts Peggy Young Brackett (Steve), Gayla Young Routh (Doug), Sandy Wilson
