Wanda Joines

Obituary: Wanda H. Joines, 69, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, January 21, 2019, at CHS-Northeast Medical Center. Born December 16, 1949 in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Lila Pearl Honbarger. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Scott. A loving and devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Joines will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a lifelong member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in China Grove. Wanda was the loving wife of Dickie Joines; a devoted mother to her sons, Kevin Joines (Lisa), and Michael Joines (Sara); both of Kannapolis, the proud grandmother of Marissa and Corey Joines; a wonderful sister and best friend to Phyllis Dixon (Dennis). Nieces and nephews also are left with cherished memories. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Joines will begin at 3:00 PM Thursday, January 24th at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Keith Bingham, Pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
