Wanda Gail Kennedy

Obituary: Mrs. Wanda Gail Kennedy, 67, of Kannapolis went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday August 29, 2018. She was born in Iredell County, August 14, 1951 a daughter of Columbus and Mary Wright Upright. Wanda was a member of Calvary Foursquare Church of Concord. She loved to spend time with her family at the beach and the mountains. She was an avid reader of books and enjoyed the music of Blake Shelton. Wanda enjoyed spending time and being with her family most of all. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnny Wrenn Kennedy in November of 2013, and one brother. Survivors include her daughter Wendy Surkosky ( Mark )of Kannapolis, N.C., her son John Coxey ( Kathy ) of China Grove, N. C. Grandchildren Christopher Coxey (Chelsie ), Schuyler Surkosky ( Jessie ), Ron Helms Jr., Dylan Oliver, Madison, Raegan Surkosky. Great- grandchildren Easton, Chloe, Emery Coxey, and Great nephew Cameron Pope. Two sisters, Ada Helms and Melanie Knight. Two brothers David Upright and Danny Upright. Her sisters in love, Jodi Giglio and Robin Hoover. Her fur babies Max, Dixie, and Jazzy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 1:00P.M. Until 6:00 P.M. at Highest Praise Worship Center, 1700 Boston Road, China Grove, N.C. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105 or a local animal shelter.
