Wanda Stirewalt Starnes

Obituary: Wanda Christian Stirewalt Starnes, 53, of 1205 Sunset Drive, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord follow an illness of one week. Wanda was born August 13, 1956 in Rowan County, daughter of Betty Jenkins Stirewalt of Kannapolis and the late Guy Henry Stirewalt. Prior to becoming disabled she had worked at CMC-Northeast and several nursing homes. She had also been employed at Sherwin-Williams and at IBM. She was a member of Independence Square Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed writing poems which were published on Starlight Café. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel conducted by Rev. Ronnie Cooper. The family will receive friends at the Whitley Funeral Home Annex from 1:30-3:00 P.M. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. At other times they will be at their respective residences. Survivors include her Mother: Betty Jenkins Stirewalt of Kannapolis, Her Fiance': Bruce Shelton of Lewisville, Tx., Sister: Angela Measimer of Kannapolis, two Brothers: Guy "Mike" Stirewalt, Jr. of Kannapolis and David L. Stirewalt of Spartanburg, SC. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a Brother: Harold Lynn Stirewalt.
