Warren Everett Beaver

Obituary: Warren Everett Beaver, age 89, of Kannapolis died Friday, July 27, 2013 at CMC-NE after a period of declining health. Warren was born August 6, 1923 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Everett C. and Susan Lisenby Beaver. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the US Navy on the USS Cowpens and the USS Philippine Sea. He resided for many years in St. Petersburg, FL during which he worked for Winn Dixie for 20 years, retiring in 1984 and was a member of the VFW. Warren moved back to Kannapolis in 2002 to be near his immediate family. He was a member of North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church. Warren found pleasure in cooking, gardening and feeding and watching the birds. In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Goodenough Beaver, who passed in 1998 and by 3 sisters and 5 brothers. He is survived by four step-daughters and their families, his brothers Grover Beaver of Kannapolis and John Beaver of Roanoke Rapids and a number of nieces and nephews, including Susan Sides and Michele Beaver, who saw to his care. His funeral service will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, July 30 at North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church with Rev. Steve Beam and Rev. Steven Cline officiating. Burial will follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 to 12:00 PM prior to the funeral.
