Wayne Mcarthur Hilton, Sr.

Obituary: Wayne McArthur Hilton Sr., 72 of Kannapolis, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at his residence following a period of declining health. Mr. Hilton was born in Cabarrus County on July 3, 1942 a son of the late Ralph R. and Lottie Bolick Hilton. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother. Mr. Hilton was the owner and operator of Hilton Signs and Signs Today. A 1962 graduate of A.L. Brown High School he also attended Wingate College. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. A memorial service for Mr. Hilton will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Marvin Goodnight officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the services at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Mr. Hilton is survived by his wife; Doris Henley Hilton of the residence, sons; Wayne McArthur Hilton Jr. of Kannapolis, and Joey Hilton (Annie) of Salisbury, daughters; Diana Gullion (David) of Mooresville, and Crissy McBride (Scott) of Salisbury, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a brother; Paul Hilton (Jo Ann), and a sister; Linda Lewis, both of Kannapolis.
