Obituary: Wayne Douglas Lyman, Jr., 41, of China Grove passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury. He was born June 17, 1972 in Cabarrus County, son of Sandra Jane Lyman Winburn of Kannapolis and the late Wayne Douglas Lyman, Sr. Wayne was a member of Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church and had been employed as a concrete finisher prior to becoming disabled. He was an avid fisherman. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Walt Lyman. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel from 12:00-1:00 P.M. Saturday prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence of a son, Wayne Peyton Lyman. Survivors in addition to his mother include two sons: Devin Allen Lyman and Wayne Peyton Lyman both of China Grove, two sisters, Crystal (Carlos) Butler and Donna (Martin) Nava both of Kannapolis, two step-sisters, Wanda Mullins of Kannapolis and Lisa King of Woodleaf. Also surviving is a dear friend, Margie Bostian and a number of nieces and nephews.
