Wayne Parker, Sr.

Obituary: Jerry WAYNE Parker, Sr., 70, of Concord died Thursday, June 13, 2012 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born December 18, 1941 in Cabarrus County, a son of Bessie Turner Parker of Concord and the late John Turner Parker. Wayne was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. He was employed with Harris-Teeter for a number of years until his retirement. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Georgia J. Parker of the Home, two sons, Jerry Wayne Parker, Jr. and wife Wendy, and John Paul Parker; one daughter, Wendy Isenhour and husband Rhett all of Concord, two brothers, John Carl Parker of Concord and William H. Parker and wife Jeanette of Troutman. Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jimmy Barrett. Interment will be in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the funeral. At other times they will be at the residence.
